David McArdle
Director
Languages: English, Russian, Spanish (learning)
Countries Lived In: UK, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Thailand, Cambodia, Georgia, Turkey, and Albania
After completing an M.Phil. at the University of Oxford in 2011, David moved to Kyrgyzstan – the country which inspired much of his academic curiosity, and where he worked as a researcher, monitored elections, and studied the Russian language. In the years that were to follow, David began dividing his time between Bishkek, Bangkok and Tbilisi: an unlikely fusion which influences much of his culinary repertoire today.
In the few godless hours not working for Alba, David (still) reads for pleasure, travels to obscure outposts, and scribbles down some of his experiences in back-of-beyond places.
