Our Story

Soon after his trip to Central Asia in 2009, David McArdle returned to the UK and founded ALBA Editing and Proofreading.

The immense pride David takes in his editing and proofreading work quickly attracted a diverse and loyal client base, presenting the opportunity to expand his business.

Since starting operations in 2010, ALBA has kept up with the pace and gone global.

ALBA Editing’s client portfolio now spans over 60 countries across three distinct industries: academia, corporate, and government and international organizations.

Throughout this steady development, ALBA has adhered to the following core principles since day one:

How is the editing/proofreading work carried out?

All changes are made and comments added using ‘track changes’ – therefore everything done to the document is clearly visible to the client upon its return.

How long does the editing/proofreading take?

A typical document (2,000 – 10,000 words) can be returned fully edited/proofread within 2-4 days. Quicker turnarounds are also possible upon request.

How and when is payment made?

As we place a strong emphasis on building trust with clients, payment is made after the job is completed. At that point, clients are issued an e-invoice for secure online payment, or a traditional invoice for bank transfer.
